New Japanese Speed Records were set at Ioko Beach in Chiba in the wake of the passing typhoon. On a 450m stretch with another 150m for slowing down and turning 74.0km was set with a 2m sail. 74.7km was all that could be pumped out of a 3m sail by the All Black b-machine. During the runs a gust of 12.97 m/s was measured. (The speedo has been calibrated for m/s so the KMH and display decimal dot readout are not applicable)
